Notes From the North
Cultivating the North
After months of phenotyping and testing, 48North has selected its top performing cultivars to bring to the Canadian recreational market including Girl Scout Cookies, Granddaddy Purple, Green Crack, Kosher Kush, Power Plant, and a High CBD strain.
Over the past year the team at DelShen Therapeutics has been working hard to identify the best performing phenotypes based on yield, cannabinoid content, footprint and a variety of other factors. The team has selected the six phenotypes from a selection of the over 6500 seeds imported from Netherlands based Maripharm B.V. last year.
“We have thousands of seeds, and we know there’s going to be something that will perform well,” says Matt Draper of DelShen Therapeutics. “It’s just a matter of finding it. Say I’ve got 300 Granddaddy Purple seeds. From them we will find one or two phenotypes that will be revenue generators for the consumer market.”
