Production Technician
— Kirkland Lake

Full-time position

The Production Technician is responsible for all aspects of cultivation, harvesting, post-harvest processing and sanitation requirements related to the production of medical cannabis. The Production Technician will be required to follow standardized operating procedures, and to handle potentially hazardous materials/waste. This position may require Health Canada security clearance..

Job Description

  • Clean rooms and wash surfaces ensuring proper disinfectant procedures are followed in Grow Rooms, Processing areas, the hallways, bathrooms, lobbies, office areas and warehouse

  • Maintain and restock adequate supply of cleaning materials, chemicals, toiletries and all supplies

  • Maintaining and restocking adequate supply of required clean uniforms including scrubs and PPE

  • Ensuring Production equipment is washed/disinfected and ready for use in timely manner

  • Operate Safety Sensitive Equipment as trained and/or licenced

  • Observe and report plant development, soil/ room conditions, read and record environmental conditions and record data, report observations to supervisor

  • Mix planting soil and fill containers to assist in transplant and room populations, following prescribed procedures

  • Control plant growth and development through pruning and shaping of plants for ultimate growth and harvest aid, following prescribed procedures

  • Conduct room-turnover after harvest in accordance with operating procedures

  • Participate in waste destruction according to operating procedures

  • Accurately weigh and record all pertinent data for harvest records

  • All other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently in a busy environment

  • Some background in science, horticulture and basic mathematical skills

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent

  • Good observation skills to detect disease and pests

  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility and able to work well under pressure with a strong attention to detail

  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

  • Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and as a team member

  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures

  • Ability to operate Safety Sensitive Equipment as trained and/or licenced

  • Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations such as pruning, requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in performance of tasks

WORK CONDITIONS

  • Hazards associated with the trade

  • Prolonged standing, walking, lifting, squatting and bending

  • Work environment can be hot and humid, similar to a greenhouse environment

Maintenance Electrical Apprentice

FULL-TIME POSITION

The Maintenance Electrical Apprentice, under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, is responsible for assistance with electrical, and general maintenance and repair for DelShen Therapeutics. The incumbent’s duties would include electrical repair, mechanical repairs, as well as other maintenance work as required.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Participate in various aspects of building maintenance requirements, including updates and new constructions

  • Repair/test environmental system components in conjunction with the site electrician.

  •  Assist with troubleshoot environmental issues

  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on the various mechanical operating systems found at DelShen Therapeutics, including furnace systems, air conditioning systems, etc.

  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently

  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities

  • Strong coordination, organization, teaming and communication skills verbally and written

  • Ability to perform minor repair work

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • Strong attention to detail

  • First Aid skills and/or certificates are considered assets

Qualifications

  • Must be registered electrical apprentice.

WORK CONDITIONS

  • After hours scheduled on-call availability may be required

  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Safety equipment required, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses, etc.

  • Overtime as required

  • Hazards associated with the trade

  • Work both indoors and outdoors
