Production Technician
— Kirkland Lake

Full-time position

The Production Technician is responsible for all aspects of cultivation, harvesting, post-harvest processing and sanitation requirements related to the production of medical cannabis. The Production Technician will be required to follow standardized operating procedures, and to handle potentially hazardous materials/waste. This position may require Health Canada security clearance..

Job Description

  • Clean rooms and wash surfaces ensuring proper disinfectant procedures are followed in Grow Rooms, Processing areas, the hallways, bathrooms, lobbies, office areas and warehouse

  • Maintain and restock adequate supply of cleaning materials, chemicals, toiletries and all supplies

  • Maintaining and restocking adequate supply of required clean uniforms including scrubs and PPE

  • Ensuring Production equipment is washed/disinfected and ready for use in timely manner

  • Operate Safety Sensitive Equipment as trained and/or licenced

  • Observe and report plant development, soil/ room conditions, read and record environmental conditions and record data, report observations to supervisor

  • Mix planting soil and fill containers to assist in transplant and room populations, following prescribed procedures

  • Control plant growth and development through pruning and shaping of plants for ultimate growth and harvest aid, following prescribed procedures

  • Conduct room-turnover after harvest in accordance with operating procedures

  • Participate in waste destruction according to operating procedures

  • Accurately weigh and record all pertinent data for harvest records

  • All other duties assigned

Requirements

  • Highly motivated with the ability to work independently in a busy environment

  • Some background in science, horticulture and basic mathematical skills

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent

  • Good observation skills to detect disease and pests

  • Exhibit initiative, responsibility, and flexibility and able to work well under pressure with a strong attention to detail

  • Solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

  • Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and as a team member

  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures

  • Ability to operate Safety Sensitive Equipment as trained and/or licenced

  • Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations such as pruning, requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in performance of tasks

Packager/Shipper

FULL-TIME POSITION

Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, the Packager/Shipper will be responsible for following the defined operation standards that support the final processing of finished products. With an eye for quality, the Packager/Shipper ensures that the product being packaged meet strict quality requirements. The ideal candidate must be highly motivated, energetic and able to work as part of a team at a fast pace. This position requires Health Canada security clearance.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Cannabis manicuring and preparation for sale

  • Order tracking

  • Shipping/Receiving

  • Weighing and handling of cannabis

  • Bottling of cannabis

  • Order processing including picking and packing of finished flower product and oil

  • Use of ERP software for inventory control and order processing

  • Room cleaning and equipment cleaning (utensils, containers)

  • Electronically input packaged products in the traceability system

  • Ensure customer orders are picked accurately and on time

  • Packaging and Labeling cannabis product

  • Ensure accuracy in data entry of weights using scanner guns and written completion of production records

  • Operate Safety Sensitive Equipment as trained and/or licenced

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent

  • Ability to obtain A/RPIC status as per Health Canada ACMPR Regulations

  • Effective oral and written communication skills; Good mathematical and computation skills

  • Operating knowledge of all available processing equipment and processes (i.e. scales, sealer, etc.)

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently and as a team member

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to perform a series of repetitive operations requiring manual dexterity and visual acuity

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs in performance of tasks

  • Basic understanding of computers and Microsoft programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel

  • Highly competent in maintaining constant vigilance and attention to detail

  • Work with little or no supervision
